— Iconography
Icons and pictograms for products, services, and fun
— Playstation
Recently I’ve been working with Playstation Studios in London, designing and documenting icon suites for a small number of different games and experiences. It’s been lots of fun, but unfortunately I can’t share much of it here, as it may result in me being sued, or at least severely bollocked.
— Farfetch
Iconography design and guidance for Farfetch‘s product and experience teams. Tightly aligned to brand principles, the new icons provide clarity and consistency across a wide range of digital and physical touch-points.
— Recent*
Here’s a quick look at some icons for clients including Bumble, Design Studio, Hitachi, and ITV, which I’ll get around to updating in a bit more detail hopefully soon.

*ish (2023–2024).
— Deliveroo
Playful, quirky, and unconventional — Deliveroo required a new icon suite to reflect and accompany their identity. I worked closely with the brand and product teams to create over 100 icons, covering animation and user interactions, as well as guidelines for ongoing design and implementation.
— Five AI
While looking after brand and comms at Five AI, I created a library of pictograms to help enrich internal training docs. As the library grew, the pictograms were adapted for interactive components across micro-sites and social media, as well as a set of custom emojis to promote company values through Slack messaging.
— BT
A complete overhaul of British Telecom’s iconography system, to improve consistency, accessibility and usability across all platforms. Audit, design and guidance completed as part of Zag’s brand refresh.

The omission of any brand purple is completely intentional.
— Greetings Professor Falken
I’ve been playing quite a bit of Chess lately (I’m rubbish), and so I was obligatorily inspired to design a set of pieces.

To make the task more of a challenge (like Chess), the icons are designed on an 8x8 grid (like Chess). None of this has made me a better player.

A considered dump of some older / smaller icon projects for clients including Kahoot!, Friesland Campina, Five AI, Elmwood, and The AA.

If you have the time, and want to see more in terms of exploration and process, there are some actual case studies below.
